Patent Pending EP Coming Sept. 6th

We’re excited to announce that in just a few weeks, we’ll finally be starting to release many of the tracks we recorded at the beginning of the summer. Our first release will be an EP, featuring “Patent Pending” as the lead song in the lineup.

These songs have been a long time coming, and for us, there’s something really special about finally being able to share them outside of our live shows. We’ve watched people sing along, dance, and connect with these songs at our shows, and we’ve been waiting for the day when you could finally take that music home with you.

At the center of it all is Nate, our frontman, bringing the energy and voice that drives the band. From the stage to the studio, he’s been a huge part of shaping the sound and personality of Backlot.

James handles guitar, adding the riffs, melodies, and textures that help give each song its identity. His playing has become a major part of what makes these tracks feel like Backlot.

Holding everything together is Justyn on bass, bringing the foundation that ties the guitars and drums together and keeps everything moving.

And behind the kit is Nick on drums. Even though he’s currently living out of state, his playing remains a huge part of these recordings and of the sound we’ve built together.

Despite being spread out, we’re incredibly excited to finally put these songs out into the world. These tracks represent a lot of time, work, and memories from the beginning of the summer, and we’re excited that the people who have supported us at our shows will finally be able to listen to them whenever they want.

This EP is only the beginning. We have plenty more music recorded and even more on the way, and we can’t wait to share what comes next.
